Ingredients
- 1 (16 ounce) package egg noodles
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, cut into pieces
- 1 (6 ounce) can chopped mushrooms, with liquid
- 1 (.75 ounce) packet dry brown gravy mix
- 2 (10.5 ounce) cans condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1 (8 ounce) container sour cream
- 1/2 cup milk
Instructions
1
Fill a large pot with water that has been lightly seasoned with salt and bring it to a rolling boil. Allow the water to reach its maximum temperature, then cook egg noodles for 7 to 9 minutes, or until they are cooked through but still retain some firmness in the center. Remove from heat and drain.
2
In a separate large skillet, cook ground beef over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until it reaches a dark brown color and has a crumbly texture, 5 to 7 minutes. Discard any excess fat that may have accumulated during cooking. Then, stir in softened cream cheese, mushrooms with their liquid, and a packet of gravy mix; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the cream cheese has melted, 2 to 3 minutes. Add a can of condensed soup, sour cream, and milk; cook, stirring occasionally, until the mixture is smooth and creamy, 3 to 5 minutes.
3
Drain the cooked egg noodles and stir them into the beef mixture. Continue cooking until the noodles are well combined with the sauce, 2 to 3 minutes.
