Grilled Thai Marinated Beef
Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons coriander seeds, coarsely cracked
  • 1/2 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 pinch ground ginger
  • 1 1/2 pounds flank steak
Instructions
1
Store the flank steak in the freezer for a period of 20 minutes to firm it up.
2
Combine coriander, brown sugar, soy sauce, lime juice, garlic, and ground ginger in a bowl and whisk them together until the marinade is thoroughly blended.
3
Take the steak out of the freezer and slice it into thin strips, cutting across its natural fibers. Place the sliced steak in a large bowl and pour the marinade over it, mixing everything together until the steak is evenly coated. Cover the bowl and let the steak marinate at room temperature for 1 hour.
4
Position the oven rack about 6 inches away from the heat source and preheat the broiler to its highest temperature. Line the bottom of a broiler pan with aluminum foil.
5
Arrange the steak slices in a single layer on the rack of the prepared broiler pan.
6
Cook the steak in the preheated broiler, brushing it with marinade occasionally, until it reaches your desired level of doneness, typically 1 to 2 minutes for medium rare.
