- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh garlic
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- 1 pound jumbo shrimp
- 1/2 fresh pineapple, cored and cut into 1 1/2-inch pieces

- 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds

Combine the liquid ingredients, including soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, garlic, and ginger in a small saucepan. Heat the mixture over high heat until it reaches a rolling boil. Gradually decrease the heat to a lower setting and continue cooking for 8-10 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened to your liking.

Prepare an outdoor grill for a medium-high heat setting. Lightly brush the grill surface with oil to prevent sticking. Alternate threading shrimp and pineapple onto skewers, finishing with a piece of each on the end.

Arrange the skewers in a single layer on the hot grill surface. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until the shrimp are opaque and cooked through. Switch to a lower heat setting on the grill and brush both sides of the skewers with the prepared sauce. Transfer the cooked skewers to a serving platter and garnish with chopped cilantro and sesame seeds.
