  • 2 medium onions, peeled and sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, cut into strips

Preheat a well-seasoned cast iron skillet over high heat, allowing it to reach the optimal temperature for searing. Add sliced sausage and cook, rotating the pieces every minute or so, until they achieve a perfectly golden color and an internal temperature of at least 74 degrees Celsius (165 degrees Fahrenheit), approximately 10 minutes.

Remove the cooked sausage from the skillet and place it on a serving plate, retaining the rich juices that have accumulated in the pan. Next, add sliced onions and red bell peppers to the skillet; cook and stir constantly until they are nicely browned and tender, taking around 5 to 10 minutes.
