- 3 romaine lettuce hearts, halved lengthwise
- 1 tablespoon olive oil, divided, or as needed
- 2 tablespoons freshly grated Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, or to taste
- 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar, or to taste
- 2 tablespoons sherry vinegar, or to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil, or to taste

Heat up your outdoor grill to its highest temperature setting, and give the metal grates a light coating of oil to prevent sticking.

Dampen each romaine lettuce leaf with about half a teaspoon of olive oil, taking care not to overdo it.

Place the romaine lettuce hearts cut-side down on the preheated grill and cook for approximately 2 minutes, or until the cut-side develops a nice caramelized crust while remaining cool and crisp inside.

Carefully flip the lettuce over to its cut-side up position on a serving platter.

Sprinkle shaved Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese over the lettuce leaves for added flavor.

Drizzle a combination of balsamic vinegar, sherry vinegar, and about 2 tablespoons of olive oil over the top of the lettuce for a tangy dressing.
