Grilled Portobello Steaks
Ingredients
  • 4 large portobello mushrooms
  • 3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons vegan Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • cooking spray
Instructions
1
Discard mushroom stems and thoroughly wash the mushrooms to remove any dirt or debris; set them aside momentarily.
2
Combine vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, oil, garlic, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a small bowl and whisk them together until well incorporated; pour the mixture into a resealable plastic bag.
3
Add the cleaned mushrooms to the plastic bag along with the marinade, ensuring they are evenly coated. Remove any excess air from the bag and seal it tightly. Allow the mushrooms to marinate in the refrigerator for a period of time ranging from 5 minutes to 12 hours.
4
Prepare a large skillet by spraying it with cooking spray and heating it over extremely high heat. Add the marinated mushrooms to the skillet; cook them until they are nicely browned and heated through, taking approximately 4 minutes to achieve this on each side.
