Ingredients
- 1 (8 ounce) can pineapple rings, juice drained and reserved
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 4 pork chops
- 1 pinch ground black pepper
Instructions
1
Combine the pineapple juice, brown sugar, soy sauce, and garlic powder in a large zip-top bag. Use your hands to mash the ingredients together until they're well combined and the sugar has dissolved. Place the pork chops into the marinade, making sure they're fully coated. Remove any air pockets from the bag and seal it tightly. Refrigerate the pork chops overnight, allowing them to marinate in the sweet and savory mixture.
2
Reserve the pineapple rings for later use. Preheat your grill to medium heat, making sure it's at a suitable temperature for grilling. Lightly brush the grill grates with oil to prevent sticking.
3
Remove the pork chops from the marinade, allowing any excess to drip off. Place the chops on the grill and cook for 5-8 minutes per side, or until they're browned and the meat is no longer pink inside. Use a brush to apply the marinade several times during cooking, allowing it to stick to the surface of the meat. Discard any excess marinade.
4
While the pork chops are grilling, place 4 pineapple rings onto the grill. Cook for a few minutes on each side, or until they're hot and show nice grill marks. Serve the grilled pork chops topped with the caramelized pineapple rings.
