Ingredients
- 2 pounds uncooked medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 pinch garlic salt, or to taste
- ground black pepper to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper, or to taste
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1 lemon, cut into wedges
Instructions
1
Prepare the outdoor grill by preheating it to a medium heat level, making sure it's ready for cooking. Lightly brush the grill grates with oil to prevent food from sticking and promote even cooking.
2
Thread large shrimp onto metal or bamboo skewers, leaving a small space between each piece to allow for even cooking. Sprinkle both sides of the shrimp with a generous amount of garlic salt and black pepper, taking care not to overdo it. If using cayenne pepper, refer to the Cook's Note for guidance.
3
Dip both sides of the shrimp into a generous amount of mayonnaise, coating them evenly. This will add richness and creaminess to the dish.
4
Place the shrimp on the heated grill, cooking for 5-10 minutes per side or until they turn a bright pink color on the outside and are opaque throughout. The mayonnaise will also transform into a golden brown, crispy coating during this time.
5
Serve the cooked shrimp hot with lemon wedges on the side for added flavor and a burst of citrus freshness.
