Grilled Lemon-Herb King Salmon
Ingredients
  • 1/3 cup chopped fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped shallots
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon grated fresh ginger root
  • 1 (3 pound) salmon fillet, with skin
Instructions
1
To create a custom-sized aluminum foil "baking vessel," double up multiple layers of the material to form a large enough container, then position it on a baking sheet.
2
Place the salmon fillet, skin-side down, inside the aluminum foil "baking vessel".
3
Combine basil, honey, lemon juice, oil, soy sauce, shallots, Worcestershire sauce, and ginger in a small bowl using a whisk until the ingredients are well incorporated; pour this marinade over the salmon fillet and allow it to sit for approximately 20 minutes.
4
While waiting, preheat an outdoor grill over medium-low heat.
5
Carefully transfer the aluminum foil "baking vessel" containing the salmon fillet from the baking sheet to the preheated grill. Close the grill lid and cook, covered, until the salmon flakes apart easily with a fork but remains moist, about 10 minutes per inch of thickness, approximately 20 minutes.
6
Once cooked, use a spatula to carefully remove the salmon fillet from its skin; the skin will stick to the aluminum foil and your grill will remain free of debris.
