Grilled Korean Beef Ribs
Ingredients
  • 2 1/2 pounds beef short ribs, cut flanken-style
  • 1/2 large Asian pear, cored and cubed
  • 1 white onion
  • 1 kiwi, peeled and diced
  • 5 cloves garlic
  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup sesame oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
Instructions
1
Submerge the ribs in a large container of water, allowing them to rehydrate for 1 hour.
2
Remove the ribs from the water and place them back in the container.
3
Using a food processor, blend together the Asian pear, onion, kiwi, and garlic until you achieve your desired consistency.
4
Transfer this mixture to a separate bowl and mix in the soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, sesame oil, and black pepper until well combined.
5
Pour this marinade over the ribs in the container, making sure they are fully coated.
6
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the ribs for at least 8 hours or overnight, ensuring they are turned halfway through the marinating process.
7
After the ribs have finished marinating, strain the marinade and discard it.
8
Preheat your grill to a medium heat setting and lightly brush the grill grates with oil to prevent sticking.
9
Grill the ribs over medium heat, flipping them every 8 minutes or so until they are nicely browned on the outside and no longer pink in the center.
