- 8 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves - cut into 2 inch pieces
- 1 (20 ounce) can pineapple chunks, drained

Combine soy sauce, brown sugar, sherry, sesame oil, ginger, and garlic powder in a shallow glass dish. Thoroughly blend the ingredients until well combined. Add chicken pieces and pineapple chunks, stirring until they are evenly coated with the marinade mixture. Cover the dish and refrigerate for 1 to 2 hours, allowing the flavors to meld together.

Heat the grill to a medium-high temperature and lightly brush the grill grate with oil. Thread chicken pieces and pineapple chunks alternately onto skewers, discarding any excess marinade.

Grill the chicken and pineapple on a preheated grill, turning them occasionally until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees F (74 degrees C) and is no longer pink in the center.
