Grilled Cedar Plank Salmon
Ingredients
  • 3 (12 inch) untreated cedar planks
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 2 (2 pound) salmon fillets, skin removed
Instructions
1
Collect all necessary components.
2
Submerge cedar planks in warm water for a minimum of 1 hour, allowing them to rehydrate. The longer you have available time, the more they will absorb.
3
Combine soy sauce, vegetable oil, rice vinegar, sesame oil, green onions, ginger, and garlic in a shallow dish. Stir until the ingredients are well-blended.
4
Place salmon fillets within the soy mixture, ensuring they are evenly coated. Cover and allow them to marinate for at least 15 minutes, or up to 1 hour if refrigerated.
5
Preheat your outdoor grill to a medium heat setting. Position the cedar planks on the grill grate, allowing them to warm up and start emitting a subtle smoke and crackling sound.
6
Remove the salmon from its marinade and place it on top of the planks; discard the remaining marinade.
7
Close the grill cover, then cook the salmon until it becomes tender and flakes easily with a fork, approximately 20 minutes; note that it will continue to cook after you remove it from the grill.
