Greek Yogurt Pasta Carbonara
Ingredients
  • 1/4 pound turkey bacon
  • 1/4 pound angel hair pasta
  • 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 pinch garlic salt
  • 1 pinch onion powder
Instructions
1
Begin by cooking the turkey bacon in a large skillet over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally until it reaches an even brown color, approximately 5 minutes. Remove and set aside to cool down and crumble into smaller pieces.
2
Next, fill a large pot with salted water and bring it to a vigorous boil. Add the angel hair pasta and return the pot to a boil, then reduce heat to medium and cook until the pasta is tender but still retains some firmness when bitten into, about 4 to 5 minutes.
3
In a separate bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, Parmesan cheese, egg, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, garlic salt, and onion powder. Whisk these ingredients together until well combined.
4
Once the pasta is cooked, drain it and return it to the pot. Pour the egg mixture over the warm pasta and cook over low heat, stirring constantly for 1 to 2 minutes. Add the crumbled turkey bacon and toss everything together until the pasta is evenly coated with the egg mixture.
