- 1 medium head green cabbage, shredded
- 2 green bell peppers, diced
- salt to taste
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 cup vinegar
- 2 tablespoons celery seed

Combine shredded cabbage and sliced bell pepper in a spacious container; generously sprinkle with salt. Mix well; let it rest for 45 minutes. Drain excess liquid; transfer the mixture back to the container.

Next, combine sugar and vinegar in a saucepan over high heat; bring them to a rolling boil. Remove the saucepan from the heat source immediately and stir in the cabbage mixture. Add a pinch of celery seed to the blend; refrigerate until completely chilled before presenting it as a finished dish.
