  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 (8 ounce) can pineapple slices, drained, reserve juice
  • toothpicks
  • 1 (4 ounce) jar maraschino cherries
  • 1 liter ginger ale (such as VernorsĀ®)

Preheat your oven to the desired temperature, which is 325 degrees Fahrenheit or 165 degrees Celsius.

Next, position the ham in a suitable roasting dish. Generously apply brown sugar to the surface of the ham.

Then, attach pineapple slices to the exterior of the ham using toothpicks. Secure a cherry into the center of each pineapple slice with additional toothpicks.

After that, pour ginger ale and any remaining pineapple juice into the roasting pan. Cover the ham with aluminum foil to prevent overcooking.

Finally, bake the prepared dish in the preheated oven for 4 hours. Remove the aluminum foil and continue baking for an additional 30 minutes.
