Grandma's Raspberry Oat Bars
Ingredients
  • 3/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup raspberry jam
  • 1 1/2 cups rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to the ideal temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit (or 175 degrees Celsius, for those using metric measurements). Next, take a moment to grease a standard-sized 9x13 inch baking dish with some non-stick spray.
2
In a medium-sized bowl, you'll be combining four key ingredients: butter, white sugar, brown sugar, flour, baking powder, and salt. Make sure to mix these together until they're well incorporated.
3
Now, take 2/3 of the combined mixture and spread it evenly into your prepared baking dish.
4
Following this, take a layer of jam - any type you prefer will do - and spread it over the first layer, covering about 2/3 of the dish.
5
In a separate bowl, combine the remaining mixture with some rolled oats and chopped walnuts. Sprinkle this final layer over the jam, ensuring it's evenly distributed.
6
Finally, pop your dish into a preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes.
