Grandma's Ham and Noodle Casserole
Ingredients
  • 1 (8 ounce) package egg noodles
  • 1 (12 fluid ounce) can evaporated milk
  • 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 1 small onion, minced
  • 1 cup cubed fully cooked ham
  • 1/3 pound processed cheese food (such as Velveeta®), cubed
  • 1/2 cup crushed potato chips
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to the desired temperature of three fifty degrees Fahrenheit, or one seventy five degrees Celsius.
2
Next, fill a large pot with water that has been lightly seasoned with salt and bring it to a rolling boil. Cook egg noodles in the boiling water, stirring occasionally, until they have reached the perfect level of doneness yet still retain a slight firmness to the bite, approximately five minutes. Drain excess water.
3
Meanwhile, combine cooked egg noodles with evaporated milk, condensed soup, diced onion, diced ham, and shredded processed cheese food in a 9x13-inch baking dish. Ensure the ingredients are well-mixed and evenly distributed throughout the dish.
4
Place the prepared casserole in a preheated oven at three fifty degrees Fahrenheit and bake until it's hot, bubbly, and the cheese is melted, taking about one hour to complete. About five minutes before the final baking time, sprinkle crushed potato chips over the top of the casserole and return it to the oven for an additional five minutes, allowing the chips to crisp up.
