Ingredients
- 1 (20 ounce) can white hominy
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon chopped jalapeno pepper, or to taste
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 tablespoon butter, or to taste
- 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
Instructions
1
Firstly, preheat your oven to the desired temperature of 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2
Next, combine hominy, minced garlic, and diced jalapeño in a large saucepan. Place the saucepan over high heat and bring the mixture to a rolling boil, then reduce the heat to a simmer and let it cook for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the hominy is tender.
3
Once the hominy has reached the desired tenderness, strain out any excess liquid and pour the hominy mixture into a suitable baking dish.
4
Then, in a separate bowl, whisk together sour cream and butter until well combined. Add this mixture to the hominy mixture in the baking dish, stirring until everything is fully incorporated.
5
Finally, sprinkle a generous amount of Cheddar cheese evenly over the top of the hominy mixture in the baking dish, and then bake it in the preheated oven until the cheese is melted and bubbly, approximately 25 minutes.
