  • 1/2 pound chicken sausage, casings removed
  • 2/3 cup gluten-free bread crumbs
  • 3 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten

Heat the oven to its highest temperature setting, which is 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Next, cover a baking tray with a layer of parchment paper to prevent sticking.

Combine 1 pound ground turkey, 1/2 pound chicken sausage, 1/4 cup bread crumbs, a handful of fresh basil leaves, 2 tablespoons milk, 2 cloves garlic, 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese, a pinch of kosher salt, and a few grinds of black pepper in a bowl. Mix the ingredients together using a fork until they are just combined.

Spoon out small portions of the mixture, roughly 1 and a quarter inches in diameter, onto the prepared baking sheet.

Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake until the meatballs are cooked through and have a lightly browned exterior, approximately 30 minutes. To check for doneness, insert an instant-read thermometer into the center of a meatball and verify that it reaches at least 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
