Ingredients
- 1 head broccoli, cut into florets
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/4 cup Italian-seasoned gluten-free bread crumbs
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 leaves fresh basil leaves, rolled and finely sliced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to a high temperature of 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius).
2
Prepare a large baking sheet by covering it with parchment paper, making sure to cover the entire surface.
3
Next, take a few cups of broccoli and process it in a food processor until the florets are finely chopped, or 'rice' them.
4
Transfer the broccoli mixture to a paper towel and gently press out as much moisture as possible.
5
In a separate bowl, combine the broccoli 'rice', shredded mozzarella cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, beaten egg, bread crumbs, minced garlic, chopped basil, dried Italian seasoning, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.
6
Mix the ingredients together until they are well combined.
7
Separate the mixture into 4 equal portions, shaping each one into a golf ball-sized crust.
8
Carefully shape the crusts to ensure they are even and well-formed.
9
Place the 4 individual-sized crusts on the prepared baking sheet, making sure they are evenly spaced.
10
Bake the crusts in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes, or until the bottom is lightly browned.
11
Flip the crusts over and continue baking for an additional 10 to 12 minutes, or until the other side is golden brown.
