Ingredients
- 3/4 cup sorghum flour
- 3/4 cup almond flour
- 1/4 cup rice flour
- 1/4 cup tapioca flour
- 1 tablespoon xanthan gum
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 3/4 cups white sugar
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 3 eggs
- 4 small Golden Delicious apples - peeled, cored, and chopped
- 1/2 cup coarsely chopped walnuts
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to its highest temperature setting, which is 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
2
Next, take a non-stick cooking spray and cover the entire surface of a 9x13-inch baking dish.
3
To prevent sticking, sprinkle a small amount of gluten-free flour over the entire surface of the prepared pan.
4
In a separate mixing bowl, combine sorghum flour, almond flour, rice flour, tapioca flour, xanthan gum, cinnamon, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
5
Mix these dry ingredients together until they form a uniform blend.
6
In another mixing bowl, whisk together sugar, vegetable oil, and eggs until they form a smooth consistency.
7
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until everything is fully incorporated and your batter is smooth.
8
Add sliced apples and chopped walnuts to the batter and gently fold them in until they are evenly distributed.
9
Pour the prepared batter into your 9x13-inch pan and press it down firmly to ensure even distribution.
10
Place the cake in a preheated oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit and bake until a knife inserted into the center comes out clean, approximately one hour.
