Ingredients
- 1 daikon radish, peeled and cut into 2-inch sticks
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons sake (Japanese rice wine)
- 1 1/2 teaspoons sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon fresh grated ginger
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon mirin (Japanese sweet rice wine)
- 11 ounces pork fillet, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- salt and ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
1
Combine daikon radish, soy sauce, sake, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, and mirin in a large bowl. The ingredients should be well mixed to create a uniform flavor profile. Add sliced pork and allow it to sit in the mixture for 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to penetrate the meat.

Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over medium heat, creating a gentle warmth that will help to bring out the flavors of the ingredients. Add sliced onion and stir-fry until it becomes soft and translucent, a process that typically takes 3 to 5 minutes. Remove the pork from its marinade and add it to the wok, where it will cook and stir until it is evenly browned on all sides, also taking approximately 3 to 5 minutes. Pour in the remaining marinade and cover the wok, allowing the flavors to meld together and bubble, a process that usually takes about 5 minutes. Finally, season the dish with salt and black pepper to enhance its overall flavor.
