Ingredients
- 4 cups white sugar
- 2 1/2 cups water
- 1 cup red or white wine vinegar
- 1/2 cup minced fresh ginger

Heat the sugar and water in a large saucepan over high heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture reaches a boil and the sugar dissolves.

Remove the saucepan from the intense heat source and carefully add the vinegar and minced ginger, stirring gently to combine.

Permit the mixture to cool down to a comfortable temperature, then pass it through a fine-meshed sieve to remove the minced ginger.

Transfer the cooled syrup to a clean, sterilized container and store it at room temperature.

To utilize, mix 1 part of the syrup with 4 to 5 parts of water and serve chilled, accompanied by ice cubes if desired.
