Ingredients
  • 3 quarts water
  • 6 cubes chicken bouillon
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ginger powder
  • 1 bunch collard greens - rinsed, trimmed and chopped

Combine the water and bouillon cubes in a large pot, then add the chopped onion, minced garlic, pepper, salt, garlic powder, and ginger powder. Heat the mixture over high flames until it reaches a rolling boil. Next, add the collard greens to the pot and continue boiling vigorously. Once the greens have reached their desired level of tenderness, decrease the heat to a moderate level and let them simmer for approximately 1 hour. Finally, pass the mixture through a fine mesh to serve.
