Ginger-Garlic Asian-Style Shrimp Scampi
Ingredients
  • 1 (8 ounce) package dry spaghetti
  • 2 tablespoons peanut oil
  • 16 jumbo shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 cup dry sherry
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger paste
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons reduced-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha sauce
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
Instructions
1
Boil a large saucepan of salted water until it reaches its maximum temperature. Submerge spaghetti into the boiling water and stir occasionally to prevent sticking, until it reaches your desired level of doneness, approximately 12 minutes.
2
Simultaneously, heat a substantial amount of peanut oil in a large skillet over an elevated heat setting. Cook shrimp until they begin to change color and become firmer, around 2 minutes per side. Transfer the shrimp to a separate serving plate.
3
Add sherry, sesame oil, minced garlic, and ginger paste to the skillet. Allow the mixture to release its aroma for 2 minutes. Introduce broth, soy sauce, and sriracha into the skillet. Cook for an additional 4 minutes. Add butter to the mixture and permit it to dissolve, approximately 1 minute.
4
Return the shrimp to the skillet and cook for another 4 minutes. Remove from heat and incorporate lime juice into the sauce.
5
Drain spaghetti using a colander or strainer, then divide it evenly among 4 individual serving dishes. Distribute the sauce from the skillet uniformly across each dish, followed by 4 cooked shrimp per serving. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds to complete the dish.
