German-Mexican Fusion Burritos
Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 pounds ground round
  • 1/2 medium head cabbage, chopped
  • 1 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 cup water
  • 8 (10 inch) flour tortillas
  • 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
Instructions
1
Preheat a large skillet over medium-high heat and introduce the ground beef, stirring constantly until it reaches a crumbly texture, an even brown color, and is no longer pink. Remove any excess fat from the skillet using a paper towel. Add the cabbage, onion, garlic, red pepper flakes, black pepper, and water to the skillet, stirring until the vegetables are tender and the liquid has evaporated, approximately 10 minutes.
2
Concurrently, warm tortillas one at a time in a large skillet over medium heat until they become pliable and easy to fold.
3
Place a tortilla on your work surface, then fill it with the prepared filling, positioning it roughly halfway between the bottom edge and the center of the tortilla. Flatten the filling into a rectangular shape using the back of a spoon. Sprinkle 1/4 cup of Cheddar cheese over the filling. Fold the bottom edge of the tortilla snugly over the filling, followed by the left and right edges. Roll the burrito up tightly to its top edge, forming a compact cylinder. Repeat this process with the remaining ingredients.
