Ingredients
- 1 Kaiser roll
- 2/3 pound ground beef
- 1/3 pound ground pork
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon Hungarian hot paprika
- salt and ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
1
Dip kaiser rolls in a medium-sized bowl of water for 10 minutes, allowing them to become soft and pliable. Remove from the water and gently press out any excess moisture; break down into a large mixing bowl.
2
Combine ground meats, finely chopped onion, fresh parsley, beaten egg, paprika, salt, and black pepper in the bowl with the crumbled roll; mix until everything is fully incorporated. Use your hands to shape the mixture into large, flat meatballs.
3
Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium heat. Fry the meatballs in the hot skillet until they are nicely browned and cooked through, about 5 minutes per side. To ensure the meatballs are fully cooked, insert an instant-read thermometer into the center of a patty and check that it reaches at least 160 degrees F (70 degrees C).
