Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 1 cube vegetable bouillon
- 3 cups peeled, cubed turnips
- 1/4 cup minced onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 1/2 tablespoons sour cream
- salt and black pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup shredded sharp white Cheddar cheese
- 1 teaspoon chopped fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
1
Combine water and a vegetable bouillon cube in a saucepan, then heat it over high heat until the mixture reaches a rolling boil. Allow the bouillon cube to fully dissolve, taking approximately 1 minute. Next, add diced turnips, chopped onion, and minced garlic to the saucepan and continue to cook until the turnips are tender, which should take around 10 minutes.

Subsequently, decrease the heat to a low simmer and cook for an additional 10-15 minutes, allowing most of the liquid in the saucepan to evaporate. Finally, gently stir in a dollop of sour cream to coat the turnips evenly. Add a pinch of salt and pepper to taste, then top the dish with shredded cheese and a sprinkle of parsley.
