Ingredients
- 1 large head bok choy
- 1 tablespoon grapeseed oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1/3 cup cashews
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon Chinese five-spice powder, or more to taste
- 1 pinch white sugar
Instructions
1
Cut off the lower portion of the bok choy, leaving about half to one inch of stem intact; set aside for disposal.
2
Cut the stalks into thin, diagonal strips, approximately 1/8 inch in thickness; set aside.
3
Separate the leaves from the stalks and cut or tear them into small, manageable pieces; set aside.
4
Melt oil and butter together in a skillet over medium heat; add the onion, cashews, garlic, bok choy, Chinese five-spice, and sugar to the hot oil-butter mixture. Stir-fry the bok choy mixture until it becomes tender, taking about 8 to 10 minutes.
