Ingredients
- 1 (8 ounce) container plain yogurt
- 1 clove garlic, mashed into a paste
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 1/2 teaspoons garam masala
- 2 teaspoons white pepper
- 5 saffron threads
- salt to taste
- 1 1/2 pounds skinless, boneless chicken, cut in 1-inch pieces
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon cumin seed
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
Instructions
1
Combine all the ingredients - yogurt, garlic paste, lemon juice, garam masala, white pepper, and saffron - in a bowl and mix until well incorporated. Add salt to taste. Place the chicken in the yogurt mixture and refrigerate for 10-12 hours.
2
Heat a generous amount of oil in a large skillet over high heat. Add the cumin seeds and let them sizzle for 20-30 seconds, releasing their aroma. Add the chicken to the skillet and sear it in the oil until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove any excess marinade from the chicken. Reduce heat to low, cover the skillet, and continue cooking until the chicken is fully cooked through, approximately 15 minutes. Pour in a generous amount of cream and gently heat it through.
