Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1/2 cup water
- 8 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 2 (1.41 ounce) packages sazon seasoning with saffron (such as Goya® Azafran)
- 1 lemon, juiced
- salt and ground black pepper to taste
- 1/2 (12 ounce) bottle beer
- 2 teaspoons hot sauce (such as Tabasco®), or to taste
- 1 pound uncooked medium shrimp, peeled and deveined

Heat a saucepan over medium heat and melt butter within it.

Sauté sliced onions in the hot, melted butter until they develop a light golden hue and become slightly tender, approximately 5 minutes.

Combine the water, minced garlic, Sazón seasoning, freshly squeezed lemon juice, salt, and pepper in the saucepan; cook for 2 minutes.

Add beer and hot sauce to the mixture, stirring constantly.

Bring the liquid mixture to a rolling boil.

Add the shrimp to the saucepan and cook until they turn bright pink on the outside and the meat is opaque, approximately 3 minutes.
