Garlic Sautéed Swiss Chard
Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 small red onion, diced
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 bunch Swiss chard, stems and center ribs cut out and chopped together, leaves coarsely chopped separately
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice, or to taste
  • 2 tablespoons freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 pinch salt to taste
Instructions
1
Gather all the necessary components required for preparation.
2
Preheat a large skillet over medium-high heat by applying a mixture of olive oil and butter. Combine these ingredients in the skillet and stir until they are well incorporated.
3
Introduce sliced onions and minced garlic into the skillet, stirring constantly to facilitate their initial cooking process. Allow them to release their fragrance and aroma after approximately 30 seconds.
4
Add the chard stems and a splash of white wine to the skillet, stirring gently to prevent any potential scorching. Continue to cook until the stems begin to exhibit signs of tenderization, approximately 5 minutes have passed.
5
Next, incorporate the chard leaves into the skillet and continue to cook until they are just beginning to lose their crispness, allowing them to wilt slightly.
6
Sprinkle a squeeze of lemon juice over the top of the chard mixture, stirring it in to create a harmonious balance. Add shaved Parmesan cheese and season the dish with salt, if desired.
7
Finally, serve the prepared chard dish hot, relishing in its delightful flavors and textures.
