- 1 teaspoon minced garlic

Collect all the necessary ingredients beforehand.

Rinse kale leaves in a large container of water until dirt and sand start settling at the bottom, approximately 2 minutes. Carefully lift the kale from the container without drying its leaves and immediately separate and discard the stems. Cut the kale leaves into 1-inch pieces.

Warm olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat; cook and stir garlic until it starts to sizzle, roughly 1 minute. Add the chopped kale to the skillet and place a lid on top.

Cook, occasionally stirring with tongs, until the kale turns bright green and becomes slightly tender, around 5 to 7 minutes.
