Ingredients
- 1 cup bread crumbs
- 1/4 cup minced onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 1/2 teaspoons coarse sea salt, or to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon ground paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 pound ground chicken
- 1 large egg
Instructions
1
Preheat your outdoor grill to a medium heat setting, allowing it to warm up for about 10-15 minutes before proceeding.
2
Lightly brush the grill grates with oil to prevent sticking and promote even cooking.
3
To prepare the breading mixture, place bread crumbs, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, grated Parmesan cheese, salt, paprika, black pepper, and a pinch of cayenne pepper into the bowl of your food processor. Process until all ingredients are well combined and smooth.
4
Meanwhile, in a large mixing bowl, whisk together chicken, egg, and the prepared breading mixture until everything is evenly incorporated. Divide this mixture into 4 equal portions, shape each portion into a patty, and place them on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. Cover the baking sheet with additional foil to keep the patties moist and refrigerate for 5-10 minutes.
5
Once the grill is preheated, cook the patties over medium heat for at least 7 minutes per side. Use an instant-read thermometer to check the internal temperature of the patties, aiming for a minimum reading of 165 degrees F (74 degrees C) in the center.
