Ingredients
- 1 pound uncooked spaghetti
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes, or to taste
- salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh Italian parsley
- 1 cup finely grated Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese
Instructions
1
Begin by filling a large container with water and adding a moderate amount of salt. Place the pot on high heat and bring the water to a rolling boil.
2
Once boiling, carefully add spaghetti to the pot of salted water and stir occasionally as it cooks until it reaches your desired level of doneness, typically between 10 to 12 minutes. Remove the cooked spaghetti from the water and transfer it to a serving dish.
3
Simultaneously, combine olive oil and minced garlic in a chilled skillet. Place the skillet over medium heat and allow it to slowly warm up, about 10 minutes. As the oil begins to bubble, reduce the heat to a lower setting and continue cooking until the garlic reaches a golden brown color, approximately another 5 minutes. Remove the skillet from the heat source.
4
Add a pinch of red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper to your cooked spaghetti. Pour in the hot olive oil mixture from the skillet, followed by a sprinkle of Italian parsley and half of the Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese. Thoroughly combine all ingredients to achieve a uniform taste.
5
Serve the spaghetti hot, topped with the remaining Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese.
