- 3 bunches rainbow chard, trimmed and rinsed
- 6 tablespoons olive oil
- 6 cloves garlic, sliced, or to taste
- 1 pinch crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice

First, detach the stems from the chard plant and set them aside. Next, slice the remaining leaves into thin strips and reserve them for later use.

Now, take the sliced stems and chop them into thinner pieces.

In a large cooking vessel, warm olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sprinkle in some red pepper flakes; mix well and cook for 3 minutes, allowing the garlic to mellow out and the stems to become tender.

Add the shredded chard leaves to the skillet, cover it with a lid, and cook for 5 minutes over low heat. Periodically stir the mixture and re-cover it until the chard is completely tender.

Once the chard is cooked, remove the lid and stir it gently. Continue cooking for a few more minutes until the chard is fully tender.

Finally, squeeze some fresh lemon juice over the cooked chard and serve it hot.
