Ingredients
- 6 chicken thighs
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- salt and ground black pepper to taste
- 6 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 tablespoons rice wine vinegar
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
Instructions
1
Prepare the chicken by sprinkling it with a blend of savory spices, including minced garlic, salt, and black pepper.
2
Heat a skillet over a high-heat setting, allowing it to reach a temperature of around 400°F (200°C). Place the chicken into the skillet and cook for approximately 10-12 minutes on each side, or until it reaches a golden brown color and an internal temperature of at least 74°C (165°F). Remove most of the excess oil from the skillet, leaving about 2 tablespoons behind.
3
Arrange the chicken thighs in the skillet with their skin facing downwards, creating a layer on top of each other. Place minced garlic between the chicken layers and cook for about 30 seconds, allowing its aroma to infuse into the dish. Add a mixture of honey, water, vinegar, and soy sauce to the skillet, stirring constantly to combine. Increase the heat to a high setting and cook for 3-4 minutes, or until the sauce has reduced slightly and thickened to a syrupy consistency.
