Garlic Herb Parathas
Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon white sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried mixed herbs
  • 3/4 cup water
  • oil for frying
Instructions
1
Combine all-purpose flour and whole wheat flour in a mixing container. Sprinkle salt over the top of the mixture. Add butter, sugar, garlic powder, and dried herbs to the bowl. Use your fingers to blend the ingredients together thoroughly.
2
Gradually add water to the mixture, stirring continuously with your hands until a soft and pliable dough forms.
3
Knead the dough for approximately 7 minutes, working to achieve a smooth and elastic texture. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and allow it to relax for 30 minutes.
4
Divide the dough into eight equal parts. Shape each portion into a smooth ball and then gently flatten it slightly.
5
Dust the balls with flour, then roll them out into thin circles approximately 1/16-inch thick and 7 inches in diameter.
6
Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Fry each dough circle until it reaches a golden color, flipping them every 2 minutes on average. Remove the fried dough circles from the oil and drain them on paper towels
