Fudgy Walnut Brownies
Ingredients
  • cooking spray
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 1/4 cups white sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted and cooled
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, or 175 degrees Celsius. To prevent the dish from sticking, cover it with a sheet of aluminum foil and lightly spray it with cooking spray.
2
In a separate bowl, whisk together 3/4 cup of flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking soda until well combined. Set this mixture aside for later use.
3
In a separate bowl, cream together sugar, butter, and vanilla extract using an electric mixer until the mixture is smooth and fluffy. Gradually add eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly each time until the batter is fully incorporated.
4
Gradually add the flour mixture to the sugar mixture, incorporating it slowly until just combined. To avoid overmixing, stop adding the flour mixture once it's fully incorporated.
5
In a separate bowl, toss together 1 1/2 tablespoons of flour and the remaining chocolate chips and walnuts. Fold this mixture into the batter until well combined.
6
Pour the prepared batter into the lined baking dish and use a rubber spatula to level the top.
7
Bake the cake in the preheated oven for 20 to 30 minutes, or until the edges are set and start to pull away from the sides of the pan. Remove it from the oven when done, then let it cool until the center is firm.
