Frozen Ice Cream Cake
Ingredients
  • 1 (15.25 ounce) package chocolate cake mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 gallon chocolate ice cream
Instructions
1
First, preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius). Next, take a moment to grease a standard-sized 9x13-inch baking dish with some cooking spray.
2
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the chocolate cake mix, water, eggs, and oil until you have a smooth batter. Using an electric mixer on medium speed, blend the ingredients for approximately 2 minutes.
3
Pour the cake batter into your prepared baking dish and pop it into the oven. Bake for 26 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
4
While your cake is baking, take the ice cream block and remove any packaging. Place it on its longest side and use a piece of string or dental floss to carefully cut it in half lengthwise.
5
Next, place the two ice cream pieces side-by-side on a sheet of waxed paper. Remove your cooled cake from the baking dish and position it over the ice cream slabs.
6
Trim any excess cake or ice cream from around the edges so that they fit together perfectly. Place a serving board over the cake and hold onto the waxed paper and board as you flip the ice cream cake over.
7
Remove any excess waxed paper from around the edges of the ice cream slabs and smooth out the seam where they meet. Cover the top with waxed paper and place it back in the freezer to firm up completely.
8
Once your ice cream cake is very firm, you can decorate it as desired and serve.
