Ingredients
- 2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
- 1 pound crabmeat, shredded
- 3 tablespoons dark soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon minced fresh ginger root
- 1/2 teaspoon chopped fresh cilantro
- 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 (14 ounce) package small won ton wrappers
- 1 quart oil for frying
Instructions
1
Combine the softened cream cheese, crabmeat, soy sauce, grated ginger, chopped cilantro, parsley, and minced garlic in a bowl.
2
Heat a generous amount of oil in a large, heavy skillet or deep fryer to 360 degrees F (180 degrees C).
3
While the oil is warming up, place a small amount of the cream cheese mixture into the center of a wonton wrapper. Wet the edges and fold two corners together over the filling to form a triangle, then bring the remaining two corners up to join them and press firmly to seal. Continue this process with the remaining wontons, placing each one on a slightly damp paper towel before frying. Fry 3 or 4 wontons at a time in the hot oil until they turn golden brown and crispy, flipping them halfway through. Remove the wontons from the oil with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels before serving hot.
