Fresh Strawberry Sauce
Ingredients
  • 1 pint fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
  • 1/3 cup white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
Instructions
1
Prepare the strawberries by removing their outer layer and cutting them in two halves.
2
Combine the halved strawberries, sugar, and vanilla in a saucepan placed over medium-high heat. Heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture starts to bubble and a sweet liquid forms.
3
Continue stirring; use a wooden spoon or heat-proof spatula to crush a few strawberries and facilitate the production of the syrup. Cook until the sauce reaches its desired consistency, approximately 15 minutes. Remove from heat.
4
Transfer one-third of the strawberry sauce to a blender and cover it with a lid. Hold the lid firmly in place with a potholder while you blend the mixture.
5
Add the pureed mixture back into the remaining sauce and stir until well combined.
6
Serve the strawberry sauce over a slice of cheesecake.
