Decrease the heat to a moderate level and gently simmer, mashing the peach slices with each stir, until the sugar is fully incorporated, approximately 5 minutes. Take the saucepan off the heat source, cover it securely, and permit the peaches to infuse their flavor into the syrup for about 30 minutes. Use a fine-mesh strainer to separate the peach slices from the syrup.

Create your tea by heating water to a boiling point in a medium-sized pot. Remove the saucepan from the heat source and add tea bags; cover the pot with a lid and allow the tea to steep for roughly 5 minutes.
