Ingredients
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons white sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 8 (1/2 inch) slices challah bread
- 2 tablespoons butter, or as needed
Instructions
1
Combine eggs in a spacious container until they become light and airy, then introduce milk into the mixture. Blend sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract until they are harmoniously incorporated.
2
Transfer the egg-sugar mixture to a shallow dish.
3
Dip challah slices into the egg mixture, working in batches and allowing each slice to soak for 3 minutes on each side.
4
Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook challah slices in the hot butter, working in batches and browning them on both sides until they are golden brown, approximately 3 minutes per side. Flip the slices and continue to cook for an additional 2 minutes, or until they achieve a similar level of browning on the other side. Add additional butter to the skillet as necessary.
