Foil-Roasted Broccoli

  • 1 pound small broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • sea salt to taste
  • fresh ground black pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Preheat the oven to a high temperature of 450 degrees Fahrenheit (230 degrees Celsius).

To prepare the broccoli, combine its florets with olive oil in a bowl and gently mix until they are evenly coated. Add a pinch of salt and pepper to taste.

Place a large sheet of aluminum foil flat on a stable surface. Position the broccoli in the center of the foil and fold the edges over to create a sealed, self-contained package.

Place the broccoli packet in the preheated oven and bake for 10 minutes. Remove it from the oven and carefully unwrap the foil to reveal the broccoli.

Sprinkle a generous amount of Parmesan cheese over the exposed broccoli. Then, return the packet to the oven and continue baking until the tips of the florets start to darken and the stalks turn a greenish-brown color, which should take about 10 minutes more.
