Ingredients
- 1 (16 ounce) package elbow macaroni
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
- 1/2 cup ricotta cheese
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
- 1/2 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to a high temperature of 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius).
2
Next, lightly coat the interior surface of a standard 9x13 inch baking dish with a thin layer of cooking oil or non-stick spray.
3
In a large container, bring a substantial amount of salted water to its boiling point.
4
Then, add macaroni to the boiling water and cook until it reaches a tender state, typically taking between 6 to 8 minutes.
5
After draining the cooked macaroni, move on to the next step.
6
In a separate and larger container, combine shredded mozzarella cheese, sliced Swiss cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, and shredded Provolone cheese. Remove approximately half a cup of the cheese mixture for later use and set it aside.
7
In another bowl, blend together softened ricotta cheese, a dollop of sour cream, and a generous amount of heavy cream. Add a sprinkle of fresh parsley, a pinch of Italian seasoning, and a dash of garlic salt to give it extra flavor.
8
Mix the ricotta cheese mixture with the cooked macaroni in a separate bowl, taking care not to over-mix or disturb the ingredients excessively.
9
Then, pour the ricotta cheese mixture and cooked macaroni into a separate container with the cheese combination. Mix gently to combine.
10
Next, transfer the macaroni and cheese mixture into the prepared baking dish.
11
Finally, sprinkle the reserved cheese over the top of the macaroni mixture.
12
Bake the dish in the preheated oven until the cheese is fully melted, approximately 10 minutes.
13
Then, adjust the oven temperature to broil and bake for an additional 5 minutes to give the top a golden brown finish.
