Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds ground pork
- 1 pound uncooked medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 (8 ounce) can sliced water chestnuts, drained
- salt and ground black pepper to taste
- 1 (16 ounce) package wonton wrappers, or as needed
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cooked chicken breast, shredded
- 1 1/4 quarts chicken broth
- 1 small head bok choy, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 green onions, chopped
Instructions
1
Combine the ground pork, cooked shrimp, water chestnuts, salt, and pepper in a spacious container. Set aside 1/3 of the combined mixture for a soup base, then proceed with the rest. Wrap approximately 1 tablespoon of the remaining filling mixture in a wonton wrapper, repeating this process until all the ingredients have been utilized.

Heat a generous amount of olive oil in a large cooking vessel over medium-high heat. Introduce the sliced onion and minced garlic into the pot, allowing them to soften until they reach a translucent state, approximately 5 minutes. Stir in the ground chicken and reserve 1/3 of the combined filling mixture, ensuring a harmonious blend. Add chicken broth to the pot and season with salt and pepper to taste. Bring the mixture to a rolling boil, then carefully drop the filled wontons into the soup one by one. Allow them to float to the surface, which should take around 3 to 5 minutes. Introduce the bok choy into the pot and continue boiling until it reaches a tender state, approximately 2 minutes more. Finally, garnish the soup with chopped green onions.
