Ingredients
- 1 fresh young coconut, drained with meat removed and chopped
- 2 (12 fluid ounce) cans evaporated milk
- 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
- 4 large eggs, beaten
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 1 pinch salt
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to the desired temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit, which is equivalent to 175 degrees Celsius.
2
Combine shredded coconut in a large container; mix well with evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk, beaten eggs, granulated sugar, and a pinch of salt.
3
Pour the resulting mixture into a circular 3-quart baking dish; position the dish in a larger roasting pan.
4
Fill the roasting pan with water to approximately half its height, surrounding the baking dish.
5
Carefully place the roasting pan into the preheated oven; continue baking until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out spotless, approximately 60 minutes.
6
Allow the dish to rest for at least 30 minutes before presenting it to your guests.
