Ingredients
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 cup canola oil
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 3 beaten eggs
- 1 tablespoon sour cream
- 1 tablespoon white sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1 cup crumbled feta cheese
- 1 cup finely chopped fresh parsley
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- 2 egg yolks
- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to a hot temperature of 375 degrees Fahrenheit, or 190 degrees Celsius.
2
Prepare a baking sheet by covering it with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
3
In a separate bowl, combine the flour and baking soda; set it aside for now.
4
Mix together the canola oil, melted butter, yogurt, eggs, sour cream, sugar, and salt in a large mixing bowl until you get a smooth consistency.
5
Gradually incorporate the flour mixture into the wet ingredients to form a soft dough, taking about 5 minutes to knead and squeeze it until it's no longer sticky.
6
In another bowl, combine the feta cheese, parsley, olive oil, and paprika; mix it with a fork until well combined.
7
Create each dumpling by pinching off about 2 1/2 tablespoons of dough; shape it into a ball with your hands, and flatten it slightly on the palm to form a flat circle.
8
Spoon about 1 scant tablespoon of filling into the center of each dumpling, and fold the edges together over the filling to form a round, stuffed dumpling.
9
Arrange the dumplings on the parchment paper-lined baking sheet, with the seam sides facing down.
10
In a small bowl, beat the egg yolks until well mixed; brush the tops of each dumpling with the egg yolk, and sprinkle a pinch of sesame seeds on top.
11
Bake the dumplings in the preheated oven for 20 to 30 minutes, or until the tops are shiny, brown, and crackled.
