Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds fresh green beans
- 1 sweet onion, peeled
- 2 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1/2 cup rice wine vinegar
- 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/3 cup canola oil
- 1 tablespoon white sugar
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- ground black pepper to taste
- 1 dash hot sauce
- 1 dash Worcestershire sauce
- 4 ounces feta cheese, crumbled
Instructions
1
Slice the onion into thin, uniform pieces and position it in a colander over the sink to catch any stray pieces.
2
Add the green beans to a large pot of vigorously boiling water and cook until they reach your desired level of tenderness (approximately 4 minutes).
3
Once the beans are cooked, drain the boiling water into the colander to briefly cook the onions.
4
Immediately submerge all the ingredients in cold running water to halt the cooking process.
5
For the dressing: Combine the minced garlic, rice wine vinegar, apple cider vinegar, oil, sugar, salt, pepper, hot sauce and Worcestershire sauce in a large bowl. Whisk the ingredients together until smooth.
6
Add the cooked green beans, onions and cheese to the bowl and stir until everything is well combined.
7
Transfer the mixture to a non-reactive container and refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving.
